Miguel Perestrello is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in the field of youth empowerment and tourism. He began his career at Movijovem, EYCA member in Portugal, and has since held various positions within the organisation. After gaining international experience in the tourism sector in Portugal, Miguel returned to Movijovem in 2018 as a Board member, assuming the role of President in 2021. In January 2023, he was elected as a member of the EYCA Board and later became president at the General Assembly in Podgorica in June.

With his role as EYCA President, Miguel Perestrello aims to foster effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. Recognizing the significance of engaging members, the board, the youth panel, and external partners, he is committed to ensuring the association's ongoing success. Miguel's unwavering dedication to serving young people drives his mission to create opportunities that cater to their needs and aspirations.

Drawing upon recent research conducted in Portugal, Miguel Perestrello will utilise valuable insights to shape the strategic development of the youth card. Actively listening to the voices of the youth panel, he prioritises their concerns and perspectives, ensuring their inclusion. Moreover, Miguel aims to strengthen ties with European institutions, expand the reach of EYCA, and promote transparency within the association. Sustainability holds a prominent place on his agenda, as he advocates for behavioral change and its integration into EYCA's activities.
