Ramon G. M. Maggi

My name is Ramon, I’m a Swiss-born Italian national. Since 2019, and notwithstanding the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, the involvement in the European Youth Card in Sardinia represents an important development both at personal and at professional levels.

Serving with the present EYCA Board is both an exciting opportunity and a thrilling challenge: teaming up with my fellow Board members and with the EYCA Office will surely generate positive outputs for the Association.

Over the past 40 years I worked for public and private entities in the fields of information and guidance for young people; training of stakeholders and planning of policies and action plans in favor of youth at the local, national, European and international level.

As a member of EYCA Board I’d like to contribute to the development of the Youth Card access for young people throughout Europe and to expand both services and discounts available to further develop youth mobility.

I strongly believe that mobility is one of the key issues to widening European identity among young people and, thus, to create a stronger and united Europe: through experiencing others’ cultures, ideas and ways of live, young people can build an identity that can much easily defy negative and/or fake narrations.

Also, strengthening of the cooperation among the 3 main youth information, counselling and service networks across Europe is one of my goals: I’m convinced that the more the 3 networks are able to work and to plan together, young people’s voice is heard at European Institutions level.
